By Car: If you are driving to Islay from Glasgow the journey should take approximately 2.5 hours. Once over the Erskine Bridge & onto the A82 road along the shores of Loch Lomond, past Tarbet onto the A83 the drive is scenically stunning as you head up the ‘Rest & Be Thankfull‘, down to Inverary Town along Loch Fyne & then on through Lochgilphead & continue on to the A83 road to the Kintyre peninsula passing through Tarbert to West Tarbert & a further 5 miles to Kennecraig, the Ferry Terminal. Look out for the Ferry sign.

By Bus: Twice daily West Coast Motors Bus Service operates from Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station which will take you to the Ferry Terminal just before it departs for Islay. Contact www.citylink.co.uk for more info.

The 2 -2.5 hour Ferry journey is a great relaxing experience & you will travel on either MV Hebridean Isles, MV Isle of Arran or MV Finlaggan, the newest & biggest ferry on the Islay run. Local Travel Directions to Beinn Bhan:
From the ferry terminal follow the signs to Bowmore. In Bowmore go up main street, turn right at the round church heading out of Bowmore and turn left just behind the round church, up Cruach road for one mile until you reach Beinn Bhan. Click here for Map
